There Is Only One God

One of similarities between Sikhism and Islam their belief in our God. The SGGS starts its intro by telling us about their fundamental belief of One God.

Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯ nām karṯā purakẖ nirbẖa▫o nirvair akāl mūraṯ ajūnī saibẖaʼn gur parsāḏ.

One Universal Creator God.

The Name Is Truth.

Creative Being Personified.

No Fear. No Hatred.

For Muslims this also their main pillar of religion:

There is no deity but Allah.

In addition, Surah Iqlas is Surah which very similar to opening of SGGS.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
 Qul huw al-lāhu ’aḥad
Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One,
 Allāhu Ss-Samad
 Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺.
Lam yalid walami yū lad He neither begets nor is born,
Wala mia yaku l-lahū kufu’an aḥad
Nor is there to Him any equivalent.
 (Quran Surah 112)

Then SGGS continues talking about how God is beyond time.

Āḏ sacẖ jugāḏ sacẖ.
True In The Primal Beginning. True Throughout The Ages.

Hai bẖī sacẖ Nānak hosī bẖī sacẖ. ||1||
True Here And Now. O Nanak, Forever And Ever True. ||1||

The Muslims also believe Allah is beyond time.

Huwal Awwalu wal’Aakhiru waz Zaahiru wal Baatinu wa huwa bikulli shai’in Aleem

He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing. (Quran Surah Hadid 53:3)
